Frequent washing and waxing is the best way to keep your Honda looking showroom new. Follow these steps to preserve the finish:

Washing 

• It is best to wash and wax your car when its surface is cool so park in the shade. If it has been the sun, let it cool before washing.
• Spray the vehicle with cool water to remove loose dirt. This is important so that debris does not scratch your paint while washing.
• Fill a bucket with cool water and detergent. Choose a mild non-abrasive soap that will not damage your paint.
• Wash the vehicle with the water and detergent solution. Use a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Rinse the washed areas before they dry.
• Remove any sap or road tar with a formulation made specifically for that purpose. Carefully read the label to be sure that the product will not damage paint. Rinse and re-wax the area even if the rest of the vehicle doesn't need waxing.
• Dry the vehicle with a chamois or soft towel. Air drying causes dulling and water spots.

Waxing

• You will know to wax your vehicle if water stays on the hood or roof in large patches. Water forms beads or droplets on cars with adequate coats of wax.
• Apply a high-quality liquid or paste wax according to the instructions on the container.
• If the paint has a build up of "road film" that won't wash off, use a combination cleaner/waxer instead. Choose a non-abrasive cleaner designed for today's two-step paint finishes, which are topped by a clear, protective coating.  

Guarding Against Sun Damage

On your Honda's exterior, UV rays can harm outside paint. Pro Honda Car Care Spray Cleaner & Polish, available in our Parts Department, blocks UV rays and inhibits sun damage. This "detailer in a can" cleans road grime, bugs, grease, and dust without water, leaving a glistening showroom shine.

Protecting Your Vehicle’s Paint Job

Inspect your vehicle regularly for stone chips and scratches. Keep a list of detailing and touch-up work that may be needed during your next scheduled maintenance visit. Our state of the art auto body shop can inexpensively repair any blemishes. For the do-it-yourselfer,   touch-up paint from the parts department can camouflage tiny chips and protect against rust and corrosion.
