General Model Information:
Acura MDX
The current (second) generation Acura MDX debuted for 2007. There have been no major changes since.
The first-generation MDX bowed in 2001, sharing a unibody platform with the second-generation Honda Odyssey and the first-generation Honda Pilot. These used Acura MDX come standard with a 240-hp, 3.5-liter V6 and an all-wheel-drive system that automatically transferred power front and back for optimal grip. Three rows of seats were standard in this seven-passenger midsize SUV, and as with all Acura, there was a high level of standard equipment. A used Acura MDX touring package adds an upgraded stereo, roof racks and dual power front seats. A navigation system is a stand-alone option.

Acura RDX
The Acura RDX debuted for the 2007 model year. As it is a fairly new addition to Acura's lineup, used Acura RDX's are essentially the same as the new ones. A few minor changes took place in 2008, when the RDX got an auto-dimming rearview mirror, memory setting for the driver seat, a larger navigation screen and standard Bluetooth connectivity.
Acura RL
The (current) second-generation Acura RL was introduced for the 2005 model year. It originally debuted with a 290-hp V6 and only one trim level: loaded. The following year saw the addition of a Technology package that included adaptive cruise control, run-flat tires and a collision-preventing radar-based active braking system. In addition, the previously optional navigation system was made standard. Used Acura RL models from 2008 and older lack the current model's additional horsepower and revised styling.
Acura TL
The third-generation Acura TL was available for model years 2004-'08. This TL was distinguished by its chiseled exterior styling, firm suspension tuning, powerful V6 and impressive level of standard equipment. Both a six-speed manual transmission and a five-speed automatic with shift paddles were available.
Two versions of the used Acura TL from this era are available: base and Type-S. Base-model TLs built in model years 2004 and 2005 were rated at 270 hp, while 2006 and later models were rated at 258. Note that this revision merely reflected a change in the standard horsepower rating system -- the Acura TL's engine was unchanged.
Acura TSX
The first-generation Acura TSX debuted in 2004. Sportier than the second-generation model, the original TSX was widely praised for its sharp handling and entertaining (though peaky) 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generated 200 hp and 166 lb-ft of torque. Among the standard features were items like 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, a sunroof, heated power front seats with driver memory, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and an eight-speaker audio system.
Antilock brakes, stability control, front side impact airbags and side curtain airbags for all outboard passengers were also standard. An impressive DVD-based navigation system with touchscreen and voice-activated software was the only available option for the well-equipped first-generation Acura TSX.
