General Used Infiniti Model Information:
Infiniti FX35
The first-generation FX35 was offered from 2003-'08 in one fully loaded trim level. Power came from a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that cranked out 275 hp with a distinctive exhaust growl. A five-speed automatic was the only available transmission. Traction control, stability control and antilock disc brakes were standard.
The original Infiniti FX35's cabin was both sporty and luxurious, with an attractive gauge layout complemented by aluminum trim. Additional standard features included power-adjustable front seats, reclining rear seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, HID headlights and a six-speaker CD stereo
.
Infiniti G35
The original G35 was introduced for 2003, and was produced in sedan form until 2006 and as a coupe until 2007. Originally, the sedan was available in one trim level until the all-wheel-drive model arrived for '04. The used Infiniti G35 coupe can be had in base or Sport trim. The latter included a firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Both sedan and coupe shared the same 3.5-liter V6, but the sedan originally made less power (260 hp with four doors, 280 with two doors). They were made even at 280 hp for 2005, and both used Infiniti models, when equipped with the six-speed manual option got a boost to 298 hp. These horsepower numbers dropped to 293 and 275, respectively, for the '07 coupe because of a change in SAE testing procedures -- actual output did not, in fact, change.
Infiniti M35
The current Infiniti M35 represents the third generation of the Infiniti M Series, but the first model known as the Infiniti M35 dates back to 2006. Prior to '09, the 3.5-liter V6 produced 280 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, while the rear-drive model featured a five-speed automatic. Originally, Infiniti offered 2 trims - base and Sport - with all-wheel drive optional on the base car. The Sport trim added rear active steering, sport suspension, upgraded wheels, adaptive HID headlights and climate-controlled sport seats.
The following year, all-wheel drive became its own Infiniti M35x AWD trim. Equipment updates filled out the next few years, particularly 2008, when the navigation system was substantially upgraded with a hard-drive-based unit and digital music capabilities. Styling was also slightly updated that year, while the Sport trim was dropped in favor of a Sport package (although the content in each is practically identical).
Infiniti M45
The current generation Infiniti M45 dates back to 2006. First-year models are listed as having more power than subsequent models, but this is due to a change in horsepower measurement rather than actual output. Changes were restricted to feature additions in its second year. For '08, the mildly face-lifted Infiniti M45 gained the option of all-wheel drive and its M45x AWD trim level. The Sport trim was also replaced that year in favor of an optional Sport package on rear-drive base models, while the navigation system was given a welcome overhaul that included a hard drive and digital music storage.
Infiniti QX56
The QX56 debuted for the 2004 model year. Infiniti made only minor changes early on, including a 60/40-split for the third-row seat, a standard Bluetooth hands-free system and enhanced exterior mirrors for 2006. The biggest changes occurred for '08, when subtle styling changes and a significant interior redesign made this Infiniti look and feel like a more upscale vehicle. Most notably, Infiniti improved material quality and a new instrument cluster design made sure the QX56's cabin no longer looked like it was just a flashy version of the one in the Nissan Titan pickup. That year, Infiniti also added to the standard equipment list and introduced improved audio and navigation systems and a larger screen for the rear entertainment system.
