3-29 Spare tire present, in good condition, and properly

        inflated

3-30 Jack and lug wrench present and in good condition

3-31 Jack and spare tire retainer/cover hardware present

3-32 No water/fluid damage

3-33 Tightness of child seat anchors (if installed)

3-34 Rear defogger operation (Feel backlight to verify grid

       is warm)

Seated in REAR Seat (Passenger Side), Check Operation of Equipment:

3-35 Seat belt

Window regulators/motors:

3-36 Power: Verify switch operation

3-37 Manual: Verify window regulator operation

3-38 Door lock

3-39 Child security lock

3-40 Interior light: Light goes on/off when door is

Standing at FRONT PASSENGER Door, Check Operation of Equipment:

Seated in FRONT PASSENGER Seat, Check Operation of Equipment:

3-44 Seat adjustment (if applicable: power switches, lumbar

        adjustment, heater switches)

3-45 Front passenger’s seat belt

3-46 Window regulator (manual windows only)

3-47 Outside mirror control (manual control)

3-49 Interior light: Light goes on/off when door is

        opened/closed

3-50 Passenger air bag (Inspect exterior surface)

3-51 Glove box door open/closes and is properly aligned

3-52 Turn off rear defogger and ignition switch at this

        point

Service Stall Inspection and Testing

Using ARBST Tester, Verify Condition of the Following:

4-1 Battery (Voltage, specific gravity) 

4-2 Starting system

4-3 Charging system

Turn Off All Noise-Producing Accessories, Then Start the Engine and Let it Idle:

4-4 No abnormal engine noise or vibrations

4-5 No abnormal smoke from exhaust pipe

4-6 No exhaust leaks/noise

With the Engine Off, Perform These Checks:

4-7 Air filter condition

4-8 No visible wear or damage on belt, hoses, clamps,

      seals, and gaskets

4-9 No engine oil, coolant, or transaxle fluid leaks evident

4-10 No coolant recovery reservoir leaks

4-11 Drive belt/tensioner check

4-12 Engine mounts not collapsed

4-13Perform HVAC preliminary checks

Raise the Vehicle on a Hoist and Perform These Checks:

Inspect for leaks:

4-14 Engine oil

4-15 Coolant

4-16 Transmission fluid

4-17 Transfer case fluid (if applicable)

4-18 Differential fluid level

4-19 No fuel system leaks

4-20 Drive axle and steering rack boots are not torn or

         loose

4-21 Vehicle has not been lowered or raised with

         non-OEM components

4-22 Steering or suspension components are not loose

4-23 No leaking struts/shocks

4-24 Exhaust system components and hangers are not

        leaking or loose

4-25 No visible road hazard damage

4-26 Wheel bearings are in proper working order

 

Remove All Four Wheels, Inspect and Measure Brake Components:

All brake pad and shoe linings have at least 50% of their useful life remaining:

4-27 Left Front

4-28 Right Front

4-29 Right Rear

4-30 Left Rear

4-31 No severe scoring or corrosion on rotors or drums

4-32 No leaking or damaged calipers, caliper pin seals,

        wheel cylinders, lines, or hoses

4-33 All calipers and pads move freely

4-34 No damaged parking brake assemblies, cables, or

        attaching hardware

Tires:

4-35 Tire sidewall condition

4-36 Tire tread wear patterns

4-37 Tire pressure

4-38 All tires have at least 5/32" of tread remaining

Check spare tire (tread/pressure)

 

Perform factory recommended maintenance if vehicle is within 2,500 miles of interval.

 

Wheels:

4-39 No damage

4-40 Install wheels and check for binding lug nuts (Hand-start all lug nuts and replace any that bind)

Check parking brake adjustment:

4-41 Properly adjusted

 

4-42 Verify Oil Quality As You Change Engine Oil and

         Filter

4-43 Complete Applicable State Safety Emissions

         Inspections
